Since its founding, Nihon Bio Co., Ltd. has pursued its mission of "Contributing to the health of people and the planet through the power of fermentation." Through our ongoing work with microorganisms, we have become convinced that the substances produced by lactic acid bacteria have the potential to go beyond mere health ingredients. Our "Lactic Acid Bacteria Production Substances" and "Lactic Acid Bacteria Fermented Grape Extract," which are carefully fermented and matured using over a dozen types of lactic acid bacteria, are highly regarded in a variety of fields both in Japan and overseas. Just like microorganisms that coexist with nature, we want our manufacturing to be honest and environmentally friendly. The Kyushu Development Research Institute is located in Ureshino city in the western part of Saga prefecture. Ureshino is famous as one of Japan's three most beautiful hot springs and is known for its high quality water.

Koshu Lactic Acid Bacteria Fermentation Plant

It was built in a corner of the grounds of Koshu Kumano Shrine, which was founded 1300 years ago. In order not to spoil the scenery of Kumano Shrine, it was designed and constructed as a traditional Japanese building with a single story and fully tiled roof.
